The Clan of Vagabonds - Equine Art Photography
Since 2003, Carina unveils The Clan of Vagabonds,
a lifelong work dedicated to forgotten, battered, and rebellious horses.
Her limited-edition artistic creations are far more than mere photographs: they are a testament.
Each image tells the story of indomitable spirits, restored to peace,
bearing the promise of serene freedom in light and dignity.
Far from conventional portrayals, Carina captures her subjects up close.
An intensity that cannot be contrived—born of respect,
patience, love, and years of shared life with them.
Through her art, Carina opens a window onto a raw truth:
that of resistance and the right to exist unfettered.
Her images do not seek to flatter: they reveal and carry the memory of defiant horses,
whose bodies and gazes say it all—their history, the beauty of their rebellion, their trust.
Through her photographs, Carina pursues a dual purpose:
- Raise awareness about animal cruelty and inspire others to see differently those too quickly condemned.
- Each sold artwork is a concrete act: it helps ensure their protection until their final breath.

« These horses washed up in my life and heart like broken rafts.
Uncertain events and fate allowed them to reach the shores of the Clan of Vagabonds.
Mostly stallions, I did not choose them.
Colors, breeds, abilities, temperaments, ages—I knew almost nothing of them,
except that they arrived in pitiful condition, dull, sorrowful, angry, dangerous.
My privilege as a photographer is to be their messenger and to bear witness to their stories.
They have calmly laid down their arms and sealed the pact that binds us.
This pact allows these defiant horses, who never surrendered, to exist without obligation,
simply as they are. From rebels, they have now become free. »

« From contrast to nuance, from chiaroscuro to fleeting glimmers,
the noblest adornment for a horse is light.
These photographs capture the essence of their resilience,
of the love and mutual respect that unite us.
Once banished for being neither docile nor compliant with expectations,
today they offer their radiance and benevolence.
Here, horses bow not, proud they stand resolute with hearts of valour! »
